Besednice Moldavite meditation energy crystal

Fifteen millimeters wide. Fourteen millimeters deep. One millimeter separates the width and depth of this Czech Moldavite, SKU SS-39. At 7.35 grams and 30x15x14 mm, the cross-section of this stone is as close to a perfect square as natural tektite formation produces. It is 30mm long, which gives it enough reach to have clear display presence, while the 15x14mm cross-section means that when you look at the end of this piece, you see a nearly square face with equal dimensions in both directions.

That geometry is significant for how the stone feels in the hand. Hold it lengthwise and the 14mm depth beneath your fingers is almost equal to the 15mm side height above them. The stone does not favor any orientation; it feels balanced and solid from every angle. This is the quality that makes near-cube and square-cross-section pieces particularly satisfying to handle. There is no flat side and a thick side. Every side presents the same depth of material.

The 30mm length is comfortable and appropriately sized. The deep Czech Moldavite green fills the full 15x14mm body richly. Backlit from the side, the nearly square 15x14mm cross-section glows with a layered, deep interior color; the light travels through 14mm of natural tektite glass, producing a complex internal warmth that flat pieces of similar weight simply cannot replicate. The natural surface texture on the face is organically formed, individual to this specimen, and clearly visible across the 30mm face.Legally sourced from Czech Republic inventory. Frequently Asked Questions

What is a near-cube Moldavite cross-section?

A near-cube cross-section describes a Moldavite where the width and depth are very close in measurement, creating an almost square end profile. In this 7.35 gr piece, the 15mm width and 14mm depth are only 1mm apart, making the cross-section essentially square. This gives the stone a balanced, rod-like feel with no dominant flat or thick orientation.

How rare is a 15x14mm square cross-section in natural Moldavite?

Square or near-square cross-sections are less common than irregular or flat profiles in natural tektite specimens, because tektite glass cooled in flight in non-geometric shapes. A specimen where width and depth are this close in measurement is a natural geometric coincidence  not manufactured, not selected for shape, but formed this way by the impact event 14.7 million years ago.

What should I look for when comparing two similar-weight Moldavites?

Beyond weight, compare the dimensions across all three axes  length, width, and depth. Two 7-gram pieces with very different depth profiles will feel completely different in the hand and behave differently under light. Surface texture quality, color saturation, and verified legal origin from a documented Czech Republic source are equally important considerations.
