Our Mission
Preserving the legacy of the 14.8 million-year-old celestial event through ethical sourcing and uncompromising authenticity.
Our Mission
Founded by geological enthusiasts, Rare Moldavites was born from a frustration with the flooding of counterfeit glass in the market. We believe that collecting Moldavite is not just about owning a stone, but preserving a piece of Earth's violent cosmic history.
Our mission is simple: To be the world's most trusted source for museum-grade Czech Moldavite, prioritizing education over sales and provenance over profit.

The "Ego Buster" Philosophy
"Moldavite is known in metaphysical circles as the 'Ego Buster' due to its intense energy. While we focus on the geological, we respect the stone's reputation for transformation."
Whether you are a mineralogist or a spiritual seeker, we guarantee that the stone you hold is a genuine product of the Ries impact event.

The Ries Impact Event
Moldavite (Vltavín) is a tektite formed during the impact of a giant meteorite in the Nördlinger Ries crater in Germany. The heat of the impact melted the local rock and splashed it into the atmosphere, where it cooled into aerodynamic shapes and fell back to earth in South Bohemia, Czech Republic.
1. The Impact
A meteorite roughly 1.5km in diameter struck Bavaria, releasing energy equivalent to 1.8 million atomic bombs.
2. The Flight
Molten terrestrial silica was ejected into the upper atmosphere, cooling rapidly to form natural glass without crystal structure.
1. The Impact
The tektites rained down over the Czech Republic (Bohemia and Moravia), the only place on Earth where they are found.
